Linear Refraction

Linear Refraction is a floor light designed for a hotel in Lishui, China. The design is inspired by the rainbow and combines a circle with straight lines. A round patterned glass board projects colored shadows that enrich the surrounding indoor space. The glass board can be rotated a full turn to change the shades and patterns cast on the walls. The base and post are made of aluminum alloy, and the glass is a patterned type used in architecture. A foot switch on the cable turns the light on and off. The floor light measures 400 by 400 by 1500 millimeters.

One Hundred

One Hundred is a floor lamp that combines lighting and air purification in one unit. The form is derived from the graphic shape of the number 100. The base plate is cut from a 10 mm iron sheet, the column is made of extruded aluminium, and the head holding the lights and air filters is CNC machined aluminium. Light intensity and colour temperature are adjustable, and a full ring of light supports focused work. All parts are modular and simple to assemble. Settings can also be changed through a mobile application over Bluetooth.

Su'me

Sume is a table lamp made of handmade blown glass and copper. The name refers to the honeycomb texture of the design. The base is copper plated and each glass shade is blown by hand, so every piece has a slightly different form and size. The lamp measures 34 centimeters in diameter and 40 centimeters in height. Sume is powered by mains electricity and includes a dimmer, so the light intensity can be adjusted to suit the room. The design supports traditional craft skills and the use of recyclable materials.

The suspension lamp Mondrian reaches emotions through colors, volumes, and shapes. The name leads to its inspiration, the painter Mondrian. It's a suspension lamp with a rectangular shape in a horizontal axis built up by several layers of colored acrylic. The lamp has four different views taking advantage of the interaction and harmony created by the six colors used for this composition, where the shape gets interrupted by a white line and a yellow layer. Mondrian emits light both upwards and downwards creating diffused, non-invasive lighting, adjusted by a dimmable wireless remote.

Siro

Siro is a table lamp composed of a hemisphere and a disc. Light is directed inward, so the lamp gives indirect light and creates a soft atmosphere. Seen from the front, Siro appears to consist of two flat shapes in balance. A large diameter is combined with a minimal depth, which is made possible by LED technology. The base is matt black, and the lens shaped reflector is aluminium with a satin bronze or satin gold finish, painted white inside. Components are made by die casting. The lamp is offered in two sizes, and the light can be adjusted with a dimmer.

Astoria is a table lamp made of MDF, glass and brass. The base is CNC engraved and includes a USB charging port and a pen holder. Brass parts hold the wavy glass diffuser, which spreads the light and reduces glare. The integrated LED light source has 5 watts of power and a color temperature of 3000 Kelvin. A touch button on the brass section switches the lamp on and off and dims it, so the light level can be set to suit the room. The combined functions serve a small area and reduce cable clutter.

Time Lamp is a table lamp with a timing function, shaped like a traditional hourglass. The lampshade is made of translucent acrylic with an optical grain and is joined by ultrasonic welding, so the light is spread evenly. Rotating the lampshade acts as the switch and selects a color temperature of 4200K or 3200K. A short touch of the button starts the timing mode, and a long touch keeps the light on. Gravity sensing and electronic slip rings let the shade turn without winding the wires. The design combines lighting with a reminder that time is passing.

Stoccolma is a flexible wall lamp designed to move light where it is needed. The lamp is formed by two cables held in tension between four anchor points. Each cable combines a brass wire, which gives structure and carries current, with an elastic wire that allows sliding. A circular brass disc holding an LED runs along the cables and can be turned by hand through 360 degrees. Stoccolma can light a corner, serve as a reading light beside a bed or illuminate a table. The structure removes the need for a separate power cable.

Wang Museum is an architectural lighting scheme for a memorial hall dedicated to the Chinese writer Wang Zengqi, built in his hometown of Gaoyou. The lighting recreates the bright and gentle light environment described in his writing. A color temperature of 3000K helps the hall blend into the surrounding traditional historical district. Interior lighting emphasizes the walls, so the indoor light is also perceived from outside. Outdoor lighting shapes reflections on the water. Lamp slots and pipelines were set into the concrete in advance.

Adamas

Adamas is a floor lamp designed for home use. The lamp combines a slender metal structure with a paper lampshade. The lampshade is folded by hand from FSC parchment paper using the origami technique, and it can be removed and refitted by the user. The structure is made of square section iron tubes fixed to a circular iron base with a waxed surface. A brass cone acts as the lamp holder and joins the two parts. The parchment paper makes the light soft and warm, and the light is directed towards the ceiling. An LED E27 bulb is used.

Buddy is a table light designed for focused work. The rounded body is topped with an adjustable head that can be tilted down to light a task or angled up to provide ambient light. Brightness is controlled by a dimmer switch on the cord. Buddy is made with fused deposition modeling 3D printing, using a plant based polymer derived from sugar crops. Each light is produced in California and hand finished with water based marine paints. The compact form suits an office, a study, a bedside table or a living room.

Wuhan Qingshanfang is a lighting design for a building in the Qingshan District of Wuhan, China. The lighting covers an area of 4500 square metres. Warm light of 3500K illuminates red aluminium panels and forms a crown of red steel above a red brick building. The facade mainly uses internal transmitted light, which recalls the candlelight of the old red houses. Custom luminaires were made for the project. The lamps were selected for efficiency, energy saving and safety, and were placed to reduce glare.
